RESUMEN.

Objetivos: El objetivo de este trabajo es describir y analizar las cifras de la incapacidad laboral permanente y la discapacidad en España. Para ello, se ha realizado una revisión de las estadísticas de acceso público y gratuito que se encuentra en las web del Instituto de Migraciones y Servicios Sociales y del Instituto Nacional de la Seguridad Social. En España existe una alta prevalencia de pensionistas de incapacidad permanente que en el año 2019 han supuesto cerca de 2 millones de pensiones contributivas.

Existen además importantes diferencias interprovinciales en el número total de incapacidades y discapacidades pero también en los distintos grados de estas. Esta asimetría no es achacable ni a factores médicos, ni al perfil ocupacional ni a la situación económica del territorio. La centralización de determinados aspectos de la gestión podría ayudar a controlar el gasto y a evitar estas desigualdades entre provincias y Comunidades Autónomas.

THE ASYMMETRY OF DISABILITY AND WORK INCAPACITY IN SPAIN

Abstract:

Objectives: The objective of this document is to describe and analyze the figures of permanent incapacity for work and disability in Spain. To this end, a review of the public accessible and free statistics found on the websites of the Institute for Migration and Social Services and the National Institute of Social Security have been carried out. In Spain there is a high prevalence of permanently incapacities pensioners that in 2019 have been nearly 2 million contributory pensions.

There are also important interprovincial differences in the total number of permanent incapacities for work and disabilities, but also in the different degrees of these. This asymmetry is not attributable to either the job profile or the economic situation of the territory. The centralization of certain aspects of management could help to control spending and avoid these inequalities between provinces and Autonomous Communities.
